Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet Notes

We had an incredible turnout at this year’s banquet and truly appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate with us. It was great to see so many members together—it’s what makes this association strong.

The banquet also served as our General Membership Meeting, where several important updates and decisions were made.

Non-Pro Jackpot

At the request of our members, we revisited the addition of a Non-Pro Jackpot. After open discussion and strong interest from our Non-Pro riders, the measure was brought to a vote.

The result: overwhelmingly approved.

➡️ The Non-Pro division will now include a jackpot, beginning this season and continuing moving forward.
➡️Structure will mirror the Open Jackpot:

• $20 jackpot

• $10 paid to the class

• $10 toward the All-Around

Open Schooling Division Updates

We had a productive discussion on the future of the Open Schooling Division and what riders want from this opportunity. Based on member feedback, the following format will be implemented:

• This division will NOT be judged

• ONLY FOR OPEN RIDERS -helps keep the show moving

• Rerun cattle will be used

• Maneuvers may be repeated up to two additional times beyond the pattern

• Run times must remain comparable to standard classes/divisions

• All existing schooling and humane treatment rules remain in effect

This division is designed to provide a structured, productive space for riders to improve while maintaining fairness and efficiency in the show schedule.

Open Division Points Update

Beginning this season, we will align with Stock Horse of Texas rules for Open division points:

➡️ Points/earnings will now be tracked by horse only, rather than horse/rider combination.

This allows flexibility for:

• Trainers

• Assistant trainers

• Multiple riders showing the same horse

Our goal is to better reflect how horses are actively shown and to enhance the overall showing experience.

Board Positions Open

Due to recent transitions, we currently have openings for:

• Treasurer

• At-Large Board Member

These positions are open immediately, and we are actively seeking nominations.

Show Season Update

We’re excited for the upcoming show season!

Thanks to the association’s strong financial position, we do not anticipate increasing show fees this year. We are committed to finding ways to reinvest in and support our members.
